IU responded, "Yes. A lot has changed indeed. I was only 19 years old at that time and now I am 26."
As for her latest album, IU described, "I wanted to illustrate a more mature side of myself; including my personal experiences. I guess it had something to do with time and the fact that it was my 10th anniversary."
She then commented, "I wrote 'Through the Night' when I was really struggling with insomnia. I was wondering how to write it and I thought about confessing my very thoughts. I believed wishing one a good night sleep is the happiest thing I can gift (to someone who's also suffering from insomnia), and I'm glad it received so much love."
When asked how she came to deal with the sleeping disorder, IU added, "I had dealt with insomnia for a quite long time. It's still the same nowadays. I did some research and found out it was due to irregular sleeping patterns."
