Out of all, the keyword that gained the most interest, and also a drastic increase in the number of searches compared to 2016 was Kim Joo Hyuk. The breaking news of the actor's fatal car accident and unfortunate death made headlines for weeks.

The second most-searched keyword with the greatest increase in searches was the hit mobile game 'Lineage M'. Popular idol production program, 'Produce 101' season 2, and hit drama, 'Goblin', followed to be the third and fourth most popular keywords, respectively. Then President Moon Jae In placed 5th.
