The labor union members displayed Jung Woo Sung's video message on a screen at the KBS Open Hall, where the union's main forces have been striking. While watching Jung Woo Sung's message, the union members reportedly hollered and cheered in unison.
In his message, Jung Woo Sung mentioned that he decided to send the video out after visiting the KBS Open Hall in person for a news broadcast appearance. He said, "The bleak mood of the building approached me very heavily... It is very different to hear the news of a strike and to witness it with my own eyes. The moment I walked into the offices, the place was filled with row after row of desks without owners, and the dreary and deserted mood seemed like a cold display of KBS's past history of suffering and sorrow to me; as if those harsh cries were coming toward me."
Jung Woo Sung did not hesitate to openly point out, "KBS as a public broadcasting station has made countless mistakes. As such, viewers suffered mistreatment and were ignored, and in response, the viewers are now ignoring and neglecting KBS."
Finally, the actor encouraged the labor union members by saying, "To go without pay for 3 months, everyone, my... it must be difficult. However, for thousands of people to band their strengths and willpower together for the correction and normalization of public broadcasting, even giving up your paychecks to fight with one another, is heroic, and something which must be praised. Everyone, please do not grow tired. You are not alone. The viewers and the nation, who desire the return of just, unbiased public broadcasting, will cheer you on. Have strength!"
