Why did A.cian's Jungsang cry on 'The Unit'?

Before they performed, they revealed that the group has not been active for over a year and a half, and upon seeing this another chance presented through the show, they became inspired to become singers once more. After the quick interview, they waited for the results patiently.

The mentors decided to take Jungsang while Jin.O failed to pass. Taemin spoke to Jin.O, "I debated a lot and really wanted to give you a pass but I held you to a higher standard because you're an idol. It is possible that this moment is disappointing but even during hard situations, there will be other ways to prepare." 

After this took place, Jungsang couldn't help but cry as he was the only one of the two to make it to the next round. He said, "(Jin.O) He's someone who struggled a lot with me as we thought this was our chance...I'm just sorry that I was the only one to pass."
