JYP Entertainment used to be a distant 3rd in the Big 3 but now they're up there and can compete with both YG and SM.
This is all made possible thanks to artists such as TWICE and miss A's Suzy. TWICE is enjoying a lot of success in Japan and breaking records for K-pop girl groups. The popular idol group will also be releasing their 1st full album 'Twicetagram' on October 30.
Suzy is also receiving much love and support from her various solo activities. Most recently starring in SBS drama 'While You Were Sleeping' alongside actor Lee Jong Suk. Not only that, JYP's boy groups like GOT7 and 2PM are also gaining much attention overseas.
YG Entertainment has also had a successful 2017 and G-Dragon is the man who is leading the agency. Following the release of his EP 'Kwon Ji Yong', the Big Bang leader successfully held a worldwide tour this year. As for other members, Taeyang also had his own world tour and Daesung had his dome tour in Japan. Seungri also was successful in his ventures in China. The only setback comes from T.O.P's marijuana controversy earlier. The group is clearly the main breadwinners for the YG Family but the group will go on a hiatus, especially with G-Dragon and the rest of the members enlisting in the army soon. This causes some concern for YG's future earnings.
Nonetheless, YG still has a positive standpoint with groups such as iKON, WINNER, Black Pink, Epik High, Psy, and more in addition to actors Lee Jong Suk and Kang Dong Won. And with the premiere of 'Mix Nine' coming up, many are looking forward to YG's future endeavors.
