BTS has broken previous records.
Their upcoming mini album 'Love Yourself: Her' has surpassed over 1,051,546 copies as of August 31st, not even including international sales. This is 350,000 more copies than their the preorders for their previous album 'Wings: You Never Walk Alone', which had about 700,000 copies sold.

This is a record for not just the boys, but also K-pop in general, as no other groups have surpassed a million copies just in pre-orders.
