New idol rebooting project 'The Unit' confirms airing date

On August 28, KBS confirmed that the new show with a total of 14 episodes will start airing on Saturday, October 28.�

The applications for the program started on August 2. It's revealed that more than 500 idols applied.�So far,�T-ara's�Ahreum,�Boys' Republic,�Brave Girls,�Big Star, Boyfriend, and�Dal Shabet's�Subin�have either been confirmed or been rumored to be on the show.

Producer Park Ji Young of 'The Unit' commented, "With the goal of making the best team, we will capture the real process of their strive to become the best idols in South Korea."�

She added, "In the interview, a lot of the participants claim it's their 'last' (chance). I get touched and also feel responsible when I see these participants with desperateness, strong passion, and motivation for their dreams."

'The Unit' will ultimately produce one boy group and one girl group. Mark your calendars for the first episode on October 28.�
