SHINee member Onew has been investigated for sexual harassment.

According to reports, Onew has been accused of inappropriately grabbing a woman at a popular night club in Gangnam on August 12. The woman A, who's said to be in her twenties, was dancing on stage when she felt a hand touch her. She stated she ignored the first incident, but when it happened again, she asked another club-goer if he saw what happened.

The witness then claimed he saw the SHINee member touching her, and they decided to file a police report. At 7:20 AM the same day, police arrived on scene, and Onew is reported to have been interviewed by police for 5 hours along with A and the witness. Onew reportedly told police that he was too drunk to remember details of the night.

SM Entertainment has stated Onew was drunk and unintentionally made physical contact with the woman in question and further stated the charges have now been dropped.

The agency's official statement follows below:

"We're addressing the reports that made headlines about Onew. 
As a public figure, Onew has made headlines for a negative incident. For this, he's deeply reflecting on causing worry to so many people. 

In the early morning of the 12th, he attended a club with friends to congratulate an acquaintance who had debuted as a DJ. He was dancing in a drunken state, and he uninentionally made physical contact with those around him. Because of the misunderstanding, he was investigated by police.

However, the other side has admitted it's something that could occur and has dropped the charges as the misunderstanding has been cleared up.
Onew plans to faithfully participate in the remaining investigation.

In the situation that additional reports are made without confirmation of the accurate progress of the incident, it could damage his image and reputation in his domestic and overseas promotions, which he's faithfully worked for. Because of this, we sincerely ask that you refrain from additional reports.
