Maroo Entertainment simply stated, "We had a contract already in place. Because we are not a big company, we create contracts even with our trainees. It is a standard contract with a 7-year term."
Previous reports had stated that while most trainees do not sign contracts with their labels until after their debut becomes confirmed or directly on their debut date, Park Ji Hoon's contract has been set in place since before his appearance on 'Produce 101' season 2.
Even the 11 IOI members, who promoted in the group for a year after the end of 'Produce 101' season 1, did not begin their official contracts with their respective labels until after the end of IOI promotions. But for Park Ji Hoon, his contract with Maroo Entertainment, a standard, 7-year term, has already begun.
The reports even said that other trainees currently on 'Produce 101' season 2 have also begun their contracts with their labels, due to the immense popularity the trainees are gaining on the show even before being selected as a member of the final group.
Meanwhile, the final episode of 'Produce 101' season 2 will be broadcast live this June 16.
