Rumors circulated in the early morning of May 31 in Korea among fans of 'Produce 101' season 2 that NU'EST's Japanese album 'Bridge The World', released back in 2015, will be re-released in Korea this coming June. Some netizens who saw the rumors began discussing the unfairness of the act, while anti-fans jumped at the opportunity to argue against the trainees being on the show. Talk of creating movements to demand that the 4 Pledis Entertainment trainees leave the show, has resulted in their label as well as Mnet stepping up to take measures.
Mnet told news outlets, "The album distributor seems to have acted of their own accord without any approval from Pledis Entertainment's side; Pledis has asked for the cessation of all album redistribution." The broadcasting station will not be penalizing the 4 trainees.
Pledis Entertainment also said, "We did not ask for the re-release of NU'EST's album. We recently became aware of this and feel distressed."
Netizens commented about the issue, "People spreading rumors need to check their facts", "Spreading rumors is seriously scary", "They said there will be legal actions; wonder who those people's picks were", "The people who spread these rumors just took a boomerang to the face", and more.
