The group returned with new album 'New Kids' consisting of two title tracks ''B-Day'' and ''Bling Bling''. Immediately after release, iKON did manage to top real-time search on Olleh Music, as well as other music charts and internet portals. However, music chart rankings of their new tracks quickly plummeted down. As of May 24 (2 p.m. KST), ''Bling Bling'' and ''B-Day'' ranked 66th and 86th, respectively.

Ranking within the top 100 is considered a success and an honor considering numerous idol groups and singers in the market today. However, iKON's rankings are perceived as being extremely low or even a ''failure'' because the group is under YG Entertainment; a digital ranking powerhouse and one of the BIG3 agencies of South Korea.
The poor results of iKON are seen as an even bigger failure due to the success of fellow YG artists who made their comeback around the same period.
In April, iKON's brother group WINNER topped charts with ''Really Really'' and ''Fool'' while Psy achieved all-kills with ''I Luv It''' and ''New Face'' earlier this month.
Many netizens agreed with the report and named iKON as the only group to disappoint in YG Entertainment. Comments stated, "It's not that they're doing bad for a YG group. They're just a failure in general. They are ranking lower than Seventeen who made their comeback on the same day. This is serious", "They're seriously the biggest failure in YG history...", "I'm also shocked that there are 7 members. It was more like a unit of Bobby and B.I. What are the other 5 doing?", "Their songs are just not good", "Honestly, if they weren't under YG, they'll already be out of the charts."
