American television broadcasting station ABC has confirmed that starting in September, the American version will air at 10 pm Eastern Standard Time every Monday. ABC wrote, "Coming MONDAYS 10|9c this Fall to ABC. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore, Bates Motel), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, relocates from a quiet country life to join a prestigious hospital's surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, Shaun uses his extraordinary medical gifts to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues."
In response to this, KBS America CEO Konshik Yu stated, "This pilot was made possible after much discussion and evaluation. In addition to gaining much popularity in Japan and China respectively, this will be a good opportunity for 'Good Doctor' to expand its horizons in entering the Western market."
The show is developed by David Shore and Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim of 'Lost' and 'Hawaii Five-0' fame. Sony Pictures is responsible for the production and with such names on board, this show has a lot of good things going for it.
As for the cast, English actor, Freddie Highmore will be playing Joo Won's character, while actress Antonia Thomas will be acting as co-star, taking on Moon Chae Won's role.
