To further investigate Park's charges of bribery and abuse of power that ultimately led to her impeachment this month, the prosecutors have officially requested an arrest warrant on March 27.
The request is made 5 days after Park was questioned for more than 20 hours at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in southern Seoul.

Meanwhile, her confidant Choi Soon Sil and Samsung heir Lee Jae Yong have been arrested and are currently under investigation for their suspicious relation and number of charges regarding Park Geun Hye's scandal.
Park Geun Hye will become the first Korean leader to be arrested since 2 military dictators' arrest in the mid-1990s for corruption and mutiny charges. If convicted, she can face a minimum of 10 years in prison.
