Music chart changes will undergo their big change very soon.
Melon, Bugs, Genie, Soribada, Naver Music, Monkey3, Mnet, and more will be changing their real-time charts so that ranking is only taken from 12PM to 6PM KST. While the chart will remain in place, the data will only be taken in during the above time. This means that even if groups release songs at midnight, the real-time data won't take into place until starting at noon that day.
Now, it's been confirmed that the change will start happening on February 27th. This is going to make a big change for when idols release their songs. Originally, singers had released their songs at noon, but almost all idols release songs at midnight now because at that time, less of the general public is streaming music. When released at midnight, the fandom can easily get their artists to slam an all-kill on music sites. BTOB fans would have already noticed that the boys' comeback song will be released at 6PM KST instead of the usual midnight KST.

The issue of a midnight release had been long been criticized because once an artist (most of the time, an idol group) has lined up most of their songs within the Top 10 places, that effects the morning charts as well. The change in the system is also hoping to minimize instances of sajaegi.
