On January 9, Verbal Jint uploaded his Instagram with an album cover image for his return to the music industry after his controversial DUI incident.
The song he'll be releasing for the first time in seven months is one entitled, "I Want to Know," which is about his wanting to know what President Park was doing for seven hours during the tragic Sewol Ferry incident. This is a controversial topic at the moment, with the president claiming that she can't remember.
However, back in June, he had his own controversy for his drunk driving incident. He had admitted to it personally on his SNS, but people thought he might not have been sincere because the KBS 2TV show '60-Minute Pursuit' aired coverage of the drunk driving site soon after.

Hence, netizens commented with, "He was coincidentally caught by '60-Minute pursuit,' so he made some ridiculous excuse, saying he was going to the supermarket in front of his house, and made fun of this through this unscrupulous excuse, but he's asking about the amount of time [President Park spent on the Sewol Ferry incident]? Looks like he's trying to purposely release a genuine song about the current state of affairs regarding the Sewol Ferry, but doing that isn't going to wash clean your image," "An attempted murderer talking about the Sewol Ferry... How profound," "'I want to know' about your drunk driving," "The answer is to be indifferent," and more negative comments.
