BigHit Entertainment and Pledis Entertainment -- two agencies that enjoyed a great 2016 with their artists' success -- interviewed with XSports News to share what their plans are for year 2017!
BigHit Entertainment: "BTS to grow globally!"
On the small screen, V hopes to gain more attention as 'Hwarang: The Beginning' is airing currently, and Rap Monster and Jungkook also have plans to make more individual appearances on variety shows and other areas.
There is little chance for a new boy group to debut from BigHit this year, an agency staff shared on December 20. He said, "We are preparing for a new group but have no definite plans." Producer Bang Shi Hyuk also made similar remarks back in November during his interview with XSports News.
Pledis Entertainment: "Seventeen and Han Dong Geun to stay active; Pledis Girlz to debut"
Seventeen debuted successfully last year, winning many 'Rookies Awards.' The group will be holding their first official fan meeting in February, building their fandom even further. They will also be doing 6 concerts in Japan in Kobe and Yokohama. Seventeen plans to meet the public with songs written by members in 2017.
Pledis Girlz, who are gaining a lot of attention even before debuting, will be holding a concert in January -- the last event before their official debut. Their official group name will be announced at the concert! When IOI's promotions are over, the two members -- Im Na Young and Pinky-- will be the core of the team and the group will actively promote in the early months of 2017.
Han Dong Geun is working hard to complete songs for his upcoming album that will be released in the first half of 2017. UEE and Nana will continue to focus on their acting careers. NU'EST will be working together as a team as well as spend time working individually.
