Premiere episode of 'Goblin' surpasses 'Reply 1988's first episode viewer ratings

The drama snagged everyone's attention when news came out that the scriptwriter of 'Descendants of the Sun' would be partnering up with actor Gong Yoo and top director Lee Eung Bok. 'Goblin' (fully 'The Lonely and Brilliant - Goblin') aired its 90-minute premiere episode on December 2, recording an average viewer rating of 6.9%, plus the highest rating during the broadcast at 9.3%. tvN's 'Reply 1988', the most recently ended of the 'Reply' series, started off with average viewer ratings of 6.7% and the highest rating during broadcast at 8.7% during its first episode. 

Not a bad start at all! The drama's impressive cast, including Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na, and BTOB's Sungjae, probably played a big role in attracting those viewer ratings!
