The singer is well-known to be a cousin once removed of Park Geun Hye; Park would call him her nephew, and Eun Ji Won would call her his aunt. Eun Ji Won is the grandson of the sister of Park Geun Hye's father, the late President Park Chung Hee.
The singer attended a rally when Park was running for president and was seen in a family function to commemorate late President Park Chung Hee.
