An accident involving a female passenger's wrist getting stuck in between a train's door occurred in Busan.
On October 28, a 30-year-old woman had her wrist stuck in the door while boarding a train. The door has an electric sensor to detect objects between the doors, but it was unable to detect the woman's wrist.
The train started to move without the conductor realizing what had happened. Other passengers tried to alert the conductor with an emergency phone on the train but were unable to reach anyone.
Fortunately, a repair worker who works for the metro was on the train, saw what was happening, and quickly helped the woman by using an emergency door opening device.
The metro explained the situation by stating, "It seems like the sensor did not work because the woman's wrist was too thin."
