In the midst of the Korean President's corruption scandal, rapper San E dropped a track that seems to criticize President Park. The song is called, "Bad Year," and it has many parts that seem to point to President Park. The song name itself has wordplay as "???" can be interpreted as "Bad Year" or "Bad Bitch" with "??" (nappun) meaning "Bad" and "?" (nyeon) can be either "Year" or "Bitch."
In the track, the rapper talks about the 'girl' he hates having bloodshot eyes (President Park was accused of faking tears for Sewol ferry victims), and being controlled like a marionette (Choi Soon Sil, a shaman, was revealed to have been controlling President Park).
But perhaps the most obvious part of the track that reveals that "Bad Year" is aimed at President Park is when San E not so discretely spells out 'Chae Soom Sil" -- another wordplay that means, 'breathing,' but it also sounds very similar to the shaman mentioned previously.
Netizens are impressed by San E's courage to speak up against the political corruption, as many celebrities are too afraid to do so, and they are also praising him for the track's strong musicality and clever wordplay. One netizen commented, "Yes, rap genius!" Another wrote, "He's better than the celebrities who are hiding. San E, fighting!" One person commented, "This is true hip hop...Not just showing off for no reason."
