Man kills his girlfriend by throwing acid on her face

A 51-year-old man who killed his girlfriend after she tried to break up with him has been arrested. 

The Seoul Police Department announced on November 29 that the man with the surname Park was arrested for murdering his girlfriend, a woman in her 40s, by pouring acid on her face.

According to the police document, Park met with his girlfriend in the parking lot of her workplace on November 24. After he met her, he beat her, and threw acid on her face, which caused her death. During the police interview, Park confessed that he is married and the girlfriend is also married but they were having an affair together outside of their marriage; when the girlfriend tried to end the relationship, he became angry and decided to harm her. 

Park, who owned a dry cleaner, brought the acid that is usually used for cleaning. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was because the acid went down the woman's airway and into her lungs. 

After the crime, Park ran away to Busan but was caught two days later by the police.
