Solar talks rumors that she got plastic surgery and is a North Korean defector

Girl-crush-worthy singers appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star' on September 28!  This included MAMAMOO's Solar and the blunt, charismatic Seo In Young.

On this day, the MCs pulled out an old picture of Solar from her school days, bringing up a rumor that was pretty rare for a member of a girl group in her 20's: that she was a defector from North Korea.  She explained, embarrassed, "That rumor came about because there are [almost] no past pictures of me," so it seems like she came out of nowhere with a new identity.

Regarding the pictures that did come out, she stated, "Whenever an old picture did come out, I got so much criticism.  They'd ask where and how much plastic surgery I got." Seo In Young threw out nonchalantly, "You did do [plastic surgery], like on your eyes and nose," making everyone laugh.  

Kim Gu Ra went back to the rumor of her being a defector with, "I thought [the rumor] came out because your name was interesting.  Kim Yong Sun (Solar's birth name) is extremely unique," and laughed.  The production crew likewise put the caption: "Welcome, comrade Kim Ryong Sun."
