For an interview with Star News, Nam Ji Hyun discussed acting a couple with Kim In Kwon, who is 17 years her senior, in historical film 'The Great Map of the East Land.'
The actress said, "Many people were surprised at the love story [in the movie]. Even though there aren't any love scenes. It must have been shocking for them. In the story, Kim In Kwon and I aren't that far apart in age. We just acted comfortably."

Nam Ji Hyun continued, "The director told us that we must appear cute on screen. So that people would be less shocked. Shin Dong Mi said that we look good together, and doesn't it appear that way? I think that's what the director was aiming for. Kim In Kwon was all nervous during the stage greetings, and he even told people to just judge his movie character so I felt bad. Thanks to his efforts to make me feel comfortable, I was able to relax and act to my best ability. I shot the film without feeling any great burden."
