YTN News reported on the story of several brave citizens who braved flames and danger to save a family trapped inside their vehicle.
The report reveals that this past September 14, a 5-ton truck crashed into a passenger sedan parked on a shoulder along the Pyeongtaek-Siheung Expressway, resulting in a serious accident.
The driver of the passenger sedan, a woman in her 30s, had fainted while two children, an 8-year-old and a 3-year-old, were too shocked to even cry or speak.

The crash started a fire, which soon engulfed both the truck and the car. Fortunately, citizens who witnessed the incident managed to save the woman and the children, braving the flames and a possible explosion to rescue them before it was too late.
Tae Jae Hong, one of the rescuers, stated in an interview with YTN, "I just did it without thinking because I saw people [trapped in the car]. I was scared but I think I did it anyway because I saw people." Jo Hyun Ho, another one of the citizens, related, "When I looked inside [the car], my eyes locked with the girl and the boy. I myself have a daughter and am expecting another child. I realized that my daughter and the girl looked to be the same age. I don't remember anything after that. Everything became a blur and my priority was to rescue them."
