This past July 8, Meong Beach ('meong' is the general onomatopoeia for dogs' barking in Korean), located in Gangwon Province Yangyang County's Hyeonnam-myeon, became the first ever dog beach in Korea to welcome both two-legged people and their furry four-legged companions onto its sandy shoreline.
Meong Beach takes up 150 meters (492 feet) of the total 300 meter-long shoreline, allowing the dogs to run wild and free and even swim to their hearts' content.

Camp sites are also set up around the beach, which makes the spot the perfect summertime getaway for people and their furry best friends.
Meong Beach will stay open until August 20, so if you happen to be a dog owner spending your summer in Korea, then head over to frolic in the waters and sand with your pet!
