The August 1 airing of 'Myeong Dan Gong Gae 2016 (also simply called 'The List 2016')' explored the topic of Hallyu stars who are the most popular in China.�
It seems Kim Soo Hyun still holds the title of most popular Hallyu star in China, or so the numbers that 'Myong Dan Gong Gae 2016' estimated seem to indicate. After the actor shot to stardom following his role as Do Min Joon in 'You Who Came from the Stars,' the price for tickets to his fan meeting reportedly shot up to 3.5 million KRW (~$3,000 USD).
Currently, Kim Soo Hyun makes around 59 million KRW (~$53,000 USD) per ad in the daily papers in China, and after his popularity soared he reportedly landed 35 endorsement deals and earned around 2 billion KRW (~$1.8 million USD) per endorsement deal.
