On June 15, Pledis Entertainment relayed,
"Hello, this is Pledis Entertainment.
Seventeen's Wonwoo has decided to take a break from his broadcast activities to focus on recovering his health.
First, we would like to offer our sincere apologies to Seventeen's and Wonwoo's fans for the more abrupt news since his last announcement.
From Wonwoo's previous gastritis diagnosis, we found out that his physical health has weakened considerably, and it will be difficult for him to continue carrying on with various broadcasts; therefore, we came to this decision after much discussion.
Wonwoo is currently resting and recovering from his gastritis with plans on returning accordingly sometime during Seventeen's repackaged album promotions and has taken part in the production process for the album including recording and MV filming. But the fast-paced schedule of music show performances and other promotional activities may overwork Wonwoo's body, and so we have asked him to rest for the sake of his future and his health.
Although Wonwoo expressed great desire to promote with his members, the final decision came from the hope that in order for Wonwoo to promote under Seventeen's name for a long time with a healthy image, it's important for him to rest and recuperate now. From here on, Seventeen's repackaged album activities will be carried out with 12 members for a limited time. As soon as Wonwoo's physical health regains its strength, he plans on greeting his fans again.
We apologize for concerning many of Seventeen's fans and ask for support toward Seventeen, including Wonwoo.
Thank you."
Even though the group's comeback stages will feel incomplete without Wonwoo, his health comes first! Get well soon!
