Jeon So Mi opened up about the inferiority complex she suffered over her looks in the past on the June 2 broadcast of 'Happy Together.'
So Mi's father Matthew Douma explained, "Because So Mi is a mixed child, she went through really tough times in her childhood. She wanted to hide her Western look with plastic surgery," shocking everyone. So Mi added, "I wanted to lower my nose and color my hair black. And I was ugly back in the day. I suffered from child obesity."

So Mi further revealed that her father was a professional photographer, and that she would model for him from time to time. She said, "I cried because I used to hate taking pictures. But as I started appearing on TV, I realized that those pictures actually helped me a lot. I'm thankful toward my Dad."
