As a guest on the May 5 broadcast of JTBC's 'Newsroom,' Sean addressed the criticism that he shouldn't make his charitable deeds public.
Reporter Son Seok Hee remarked, "I don't understand why [people] are posting hate comments on this matter but there are comments that ask why you expose your charitable acts [to the public]."
Sean replied level headedly, "I wouldn't go so far as to call them hate comments. They just want to know why I make it public when I could have kept silent."

Sean continued, "As a celebrity, I have the responsibility of making my charities known. Isn't it nice to share the good things I do so that they spread more quickly? There is great joy in sharing so [I think] it's better if more people are aware and become involved."
