According to Kukmin Ilbo, this peaceful protest was planned by female rights activists who revealed the goal they hoped to achieve through the protest.

The women stated, "Our goal is to break the notion that women are also responsible when they become the victims of violence while walking around at nighttime in scanty clothing, and to deliver the message that we have to stick together. We need to change the way misogynistic crimes are treated from 'preventing victimization' to 'demanding our rights.' We plan to face these kinds of crimes with boldness rather than fear."

Around 10 men were also a part of this march, and 21-year-old university student Kim Tae Inreportedly told Yonhap, "Women are speaking up with their own voices, and men are discomforted because they are afraid that they will lose their power, denying the present situation regarding hate against women. Men also have to seek ways of reform [alongside the women]."
