IOI's Kim Se Jung recently talked about malicious comments and it has become a hot topic online of late, and for good reason.
Kim Se Jung gave her two cents on malicious comments in an interview for 'W Korea's May issue. When asked whether she reads all the mean comments, Kim Se Jung replied honestly, "I read them quite often. But one time, I was really hurt from one particular comment that made me feel discouraged."

The idol then said wisely, "I think of [the mean comments] as the ginger in kimchi. When you're deliciously eating kimchi and accidentally chew something too spicy, you don't easily forget the taste. But [the ginger] is in there because it's an absolutely necessary ingredient, isn't it?" implying that even mean comments are necessary for growth in idol life.
Kim Se Jung concluded, "I thought that this is also something I have to deal with and decided to accept it with an easy attitude."
