CJ E&M is changing the contracts of the 'Produce 101' participants after demands by the Fair Trade Commission.
On April 25, the FTC revealed that CJ E&M needed to alter 12 terms and conditions in the trainee contracts. The original contracts barred the trainees of the Mnet show from filing lawsuits against the company for unfair editing or otherwise. Furthermore, the choreography, song arrangements, and other work by the trainees were CJ E&M's property, and the company was not required to compensate them according to the original contracts.
A rep from the FTC commented, "We started the corrections earlier this month. The condition barring the trainees from fighting harmful editing was removed, and in the case of the trainees' song arrangements and choreography, the company must correct the content to state that the trainees' have legal rights over them."
