On the March 11 episode of 'Youth Over Flowers,' the actors of 'Reply 1988,' including Ahn Jae Hong, Ryu Joon Yeol, Go Kyung Pyo, and Park Bo Gum, shared the stories of how they were casted for their roles on the drama.
It was on this episode that a past clip of Ryu Joon Yeol trying out for a role on 'Reply 1988' was revealed. At the time, Ryu Joon Yeol was dealing with social anxiety and was without the backing of a talent management agency. The actor said, "The only thing I have on me is my body." Despite all these deterrents, Ryu Joon Yeol was praised for his acting and was accepted for the role that he had tried out for. When the aspiring actor heard that he had made it, the emotions overcame him and he was choked up with tears.
