There is an unlikely savior of over 200 canines in Korea and that savior is a 61-year-old elderly woman named Jung Myung Sook.
Jung, who cares for over 200 stray dogs at a makeshift shelter in Asan, gained the love of all these dogs after she rescued them from the streets or saved them from being sold to farms or restaurants.
Jung may not make much money working a janitorial job at a store and collecting recyclable boxes, but she still makes certain that all her "babies"--as she so fondly calls them--are healthy and well-fed. She is said to spend around $1,600 USD per month just on food and medicine for the dogs and also rely on donations and money from her family, friends, and strangers.
