Citizens came to the rescue once again, this time to aid a 55-year-old man identified as 'A' when he suddenly collapsed on the platform at a subway station.
This past January 18 around 12:25pm KST, 'A' was getting off the train when he clutched his chest and fell over, his legs getting stuck between the train car and the platform in the process.
The conductor, who was about to depart, immediately halted the train's engine, and passersby managed to move 'A' to a safe location.

'A', who wasn't breathing or conscious, seemed to be in a life-threatening state. One woman quickly dialed Korea's emergency number 119, and 38-year-old station manager Yoo Young Mi, along with several other employees, came running to lend a helping hand by performing CPR on 'A'.
Fortunately, after 8 minutes, 'A' was breathing normally once again and transferred to a hospital for further treatment.
Yoo Young Mi said, "I was so touched to see the other passengers come to help as soon as they saw 'A' collapse. I'm glad that we saved a precious life."
