On January 15, JYP Entertainment confirmed that Jackson will not be taking part in the recording for 'Day Day Up' as previously planned.
When asked if the reason was because of label mate TWICE Tzuyu's political controversy, the agency responded, "That is untrue."
The agency told StarNews, "The broadcast station's and our schedule were not able to be adjusted, so we tried to adjust the time, but because of a previous schedule, it did not work out. It has absolutely nothing to do with Tzuyu."
The rumor that this is related to Tzuyu is because there is a lot of talk that many of JYPE artists' activities in China are getting canceled due to this political controversy.

But at the same time, StarNews notes that Chinese netizens generally think well of Jackson, just as they always have. The netizens pointed out that on Korean variety shows, Jackson always stated he was Chinese (he is from Hong Kong). Some have even called him a 'patriotic youth'.
