We guarantee the above video will tug at your heartstrings. Car company 'Hyundai' decided to help out this 88 year old Korean grandfather using their technology.
The grandfather named Kim Kyu Hyun had not been able to visit his birthplace and where he grew up for 68 years, as it had become part of North Korea. When he left as a 20 year old, he probably didn't know he would never see his hometown or his mother again, but that is what happened.
This is the story of a lot of people in his generation, but Kim Kyu Hyun was able to do something no one else has done before. He was able to go back to his hometown. Okay, not exactly, but quite close.
What 'Hyundai' did was use automative design technology and Vworld (spatial information open platform) to virtually re-create a 3D environment, of the drive to his hometown (passing the DMZ and through Pyeongyang) into his traditional hometown.
It was a very emotional experience for the grandfather, and we're sure it will be for you too.
