At the November 19 WBSC Premier 12 semifinals between Korean and Japan, in which Korea came out as the winner, some Japanese baseball fans are claiming that foul play was at work.
On November 20, a Japanese netizen asserted through an online posting, "A Korean spectator shone a laser into the pitcher's eyes," along with a picture to backup his claim.
In the photo, Jung Geun Woo is at the bat while Otani Shohei is at the pitcher's mound getting ready to throw the ball, and on the lefthand side, you notice something flashing.
The netizen wrote, "The Korean audience members weren't fair. They shot a laser beam into Otani Shohei's eyes."

Other Japanese netizens jumped on the bandwagon and also claimed that the Korean fans didn't play fair, turning what started as a rumor into fact. However, what the Japanese netizens claimed was far from the truth. The flash simply was from effects that a Japanese broadcast station had inserted before they uploaded the subtitles relaying the game's progression.
Korean netizens who came across the article are commenting, "What a load of bull crap," "Tsk tsk tsk," and, "Enough is enough. Why don't you learn to accept your loss."
