According to a report, IU took her case to Seoul's Gangnam police station back on November 17 KST. She sent in a written accusation against the netizens who wrote hate comments towards her.
They added, "Before this comeback, we gathered all of the material regarding the spread of the composite photographs and factual errors, the creation of the rumors, and personal attack comments. The police have already finished accumulating their material, and are thinking of criminal punishment. We are continuously monitoring for hate comments."

This isn't the first time idols have taken legal action against hate comments, nor is it IU's first time. Back in 2013, she had sued for hate comments, but it ended with a mutual agreement.
