Korean sisters who were orphaned as children reunite years later working at the same hospital

Holly, now 46-years-old, was born in the sprawling port city of Busan in 1969. Holly's biological father remarried when Holly's mother died, and not too long after, her new family was complete with the birth of Eun Sook. But Holly's new family crumbled when her stepmother disappeared with Eun Sook in the dead of the night, and when her father also passed away, leaving her all alone at an orphanage. 

Thankfully, Holly was adopted into a loving home by an American couple in 1978, and she grew up around nine siblings in Alexandria, Virginia. Her half-sister Eun-Sook, now known as Meagan, was adopted by an American family in 1976, and she began her new life in Kingston, New York.

Nearly forty years and a series of fortuitous, fateful events later, the two somehow ended up meeting at the same hospital in Sarasota, Florida, halfway across the globe from Busan, Korea. Of course, when they first met, they had no idea that they were related in any way, least of all, not biologically. But extended talks of their origin, such as where they hailed from, how they were both adopted, and how they both shared the same Korean last name Shin, gave Holly the conviction to conduct a DNA test to ascertain whether she and Megan are really related, back in August. 

Holly's convictions became fact when the DNA results came back positive. She shared the joyful news with Meagan, and the two sisters couldn't hold back their happy tears as they rejoiced together in finally meeting after all those years.
