On October 6, a female director identified as 'A' uploaded a post on her Facebook complaining that she was filmed in the showers of her designated dormitory during the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
'A' said that her privacy was breached early morning on Tuesday while she was trying to take a shower. She wrote, "I was taking a shower when the window opened, and I saw a cell phone slide in. I was so shocked that I screamed. Though the police conducted an investigation, the culprit wasn't caught due to the lack of evidence, including security camera footage." 'A' further vented her frustration at the police who kept asking her whether it was her imagination or if she really thinks she was was really filmed. She also vented at reps from BIFF who claimed there is nothing they can do due to insufficient evidence.

When 'A' worried that a similar incident may re-occur, she told everyone at the dorms about what happened to her and requested for some preventative measures, the dorm workers merely announced "not to walk around late at night."
When confronted about this matter, BIFF rep responded with, "What 'A' said is true but contrary to 'A's complaints, we moved people to other dormitories and took other measures. After continuous communication with the Haeundae Police, if the results are that the cell phone wasn't used to film ['A'], then the crime won't be validated which will make for an embarrassing situation."
