In a recent interview, the singer expressed his giddiness on performing "Mapsosa" with G-Dragon and Taeyang for 'Infinity Challenge's music festival. He said, "It feels really great. This particular music genre was one that ZE:A has never done before. It was a good experience. It was a chance to show that I'm a singer through lots of practice. Like a miracle, I formed a friendship with G-Dragon and Taeyang, whom I was a fan of."
When asked whether he continues to keep in touch with the Big Bang members, Kwanghee replied, "That's right. I can't stop contacting them," and quickly added, "We planned to meet up soon," bringing laughter.
Kwanghee also talked about his ambitions to grow even more as a variety star in the future. He said, "I'm grateful when the production crew of different programs tell me, 'You were funny,' after I joined 'Infinity Challenge.' I gained more energy doing 'Infinity Challenge.' So I tend to work harder on other shows, as well. But there is also a burden. I worry that they may think I don't live up to what I showed on 'Infinity Challenge.'"
The singer wasn't afraid to bring up the times he would feel a slump in his variety career. He confided, "The variety landscape is constantly changing. People say that your popularity has waned when you appear on a show that is not as big. Rather than a slump, I went through hard times. I have to do [variety] with a bright image but it was hard when I was being compared to the other members [of ZE:A]."
Though others may compare the members of ZE:A, there is no tension among the group, as Kwanghee relayed that they supported him all throughout the 'Infinity Challenge' music festival. He said, "The members really liked [seeing me] on the music festival. They even said that we should do a song [like "Mapsosa"]."
It's awesome that Kwanghee is showcasing his talents in the realms of singing and variety!
