Under the concept of being in a 'some' (ambiguous) relationship, 'My Little Television's Kwon PD and ChoA enjoyed a moonlit date on the rooftop of MBC's building. The 'date' was broadcast live this past September 27.
Kwon PD, who was behind the camera filming, told ChoA, "We are close to North Korea here," and asked her, "Do you want to see North Korea before you go?" ChoA, who was looking toward the brightly lit horizon of the north, randomly shouted, "Jung Eun! Kim Jung Eun!" (which is the proper romanization of the North Korean leader's name).
ChoA, ignoring the PD in her hyper state, continued her rambling. She said, "My best friend's name in grade school was Kim Jung Eun." She then went on to shout, "Jung Eun! Did you lose some weight?"
The PD tried to wrap up the situation before it took another awkward turn by saying, "I want unity [between the south and the north]." ChoA replied innocently, "Unity? Me too!"
When netizens encountered this scene being broadcast live on the internet, many of them could barely hide their shock. They commented, "Will this scene be broadcast?" "It'll definitely be edited," and, "It was too much."
Most netizens, however, were unconvinced that ChoA was trying to provoke Kim Jong Un and wrote scornful comments that read, "Is the writer [of this Korean article] a North Korean proponent? This is ridiculous. Is that really 'North Korean provocation'? tsk tsk. look at the level this writer stooped to," "North Korean provocation kekeke," "Is this a Kukmin Ilbo writer? What's too much? Maybe? ChoA did well on the show, though we don't know if she was talking about Kim Jong Un."
On the other hand, Ilbe users (mostly extreme right-wing Koreans) are praising ChoA for her "patriotism," and have posted various edited pictures of the singer with the Korean flag fluttering in the background.
Besides ChoA's subtle 'diss' at the North Korean leader, the show's broadcast is earning further criticism for being too reminiscent of Japan's 'underage dating simulation.'
