Alarmingly, it appears celebrity Hong Suk Chun had been near the site of the horrific explosion in Bangkok.
At around midnight, he posted on Instagram, "I suddenly heard a huge explosion. I thought it had been the sound of thunder. Shortly thereafter, I heard an ambulance siren and saw cars weren't moving, and knew something had happened.
"There was a bombing incident right next to the Siam Paragon, where I am. People say that already a lot of people have died and gotten hurt. People are being told that a bomb had exploded. It was a place I had passed just an hour ago... I pray that many people would no longer be sacrificed for no reason."
At 6:30 PM, a bomb had exploded in a shrine in Bangkok, killing a total of sixteen people and injuring dozens of others. Many Korean celebrities quickly took to SNS, as well, to express their condolences and relay strength to Bangkok. In response to Hong Suk Chun's post, many alarmed fans expressed their relief that he was not injured.
