"During middle school, my parents told me to go and relax with a summer vacation to China. Once I went, though, it turns out they had sent me there to study," she said. "Once I got there, parcels of my belongings began to arrive, and so I lived in China for two years. At first I was angry and cried a lot. I would make calls to Korea and fought with my parents. However, as I continued to live there, life in China started to become bearable. My stay was in Shanghai."

"I think my parents sent me to China with the hopes that I would be able to apply for college having experience with the Chinese language," she added as she spoke of her parents' educational ambitions for her. "After I came back to Korea, I was told to register for a Chinese language classes, but I secretly enrolled in music classes."
