The first couple scenes showed a flashback to the moments right after Kim Sung Yeol (SY) had turned into a vampire. As I was watching the flashback, a small voice whispered (perhaps my voice of reason?), "Why didn't Gwi kill SY right then and there 120 years ago?" For a villain, he's pretty daft. But then again, if Gwi had killed SY in the first episode, the show would have ended after the first episode. So I guess I'll go easy on Lee Soo Hyuk for not playing the smartest villain.
I can't believe I didn't bring my Costco coupons.
Yang Sun (YS) tails the bookstore owner known as Wae Son at night and eavesdrops on his conversation with someone who also knows about CPJ's diary. The other party at one point says that they would get in big trouble if someone finds out they have been selling books to the 'traitor' Crown Prince Sadong. YS discovers that it was her own FATHER (well, stepfather) that sold books to CPS. Now YS has come to an impasse. Does she keep her mouth shut to SY and protect her family or please this beautiful, enigmatic, aloof man she met mere days ago? I mean, SY DID save her like, oh, I don't know...three times already. SY bribes YS with some coins and YS promises that she'll find out more about CPJ. Girl, what are you doing?? You are going to put your family's lives on the line for some stranger you have the goo goo eyes for?
Girl, you is too grown to be writing love notes like a fifth grader.
Crown Prince Mustachio Lee Yoon (CPY) is tasked by the king to capture the 'Lustful Student' in order to clear him the dreaded title of 'traitor's son,' which he less than willingly accepts. The king also orders him to prepare and facilitate the party which will be held to commemorate the anniversary of Crown Prince Sadong's (CPS) passing.
SY plans to draw out LS from hiding by handing out the fake sequel of LS's book. SY reasons that if LS truly reveres CPS, then he will show up at the ceremony commemorating CPS's death. I thought this plan a little too ridiculous because how can SY even think to risk all those innocent people's lives just so he can meet LS? Of course, SY had a backup plan, and he even prepared a fake army to arrest the people that attended the ceremony. Seriously, was all that necessary? And all those fake guards are not a good idea because what if one of them ran their mouths about this whole ruse to the wrong person?
I can't get over how fabulous my nails are. Cindy did a really good.
Okay, some of you had brought this up in the comments and I didn't want to say anything for fear that I was the only one that thought so, but I really can't stand how infatuated YS is with SY. The dunderhead goes searching for the scholar thinking that he was captured by the 'guards' by herself in the woods at night, AGAIN. How much dumber could the female lead get? Must SY save you EVERY DARN time you get lost in the woods? This makes it the FOURTH time YS is saved by SY. I feel like a good half every episode is spent on YS falling in the good graces of SY who just so 'magically' pops up to save her. The man will get no respite it seems from his night job of 'let's go save the dunce of a female lead.' He will be doing this until episode 20. I guarantee it. (Don't get me wrong people, I love Lee Jun Ki and Lee Yu Bi, but this is just getting out of hand.) I want to see the strong, independent, sharp female lead that was in the original manhwa series!! There has to be a better way to develop the love story between the male and female lead, but the writers refuse to let viewers believe that females are capable of fending for themselves.
Let oppa take care of you.
At this point, I'm getting less and less interested in the love arc between YS and SY; in fact, I'm about a thumbnail close to rooting for CPY and YS instead.
Wonderful blog! I found it while browsing on Yahoo News. Do you have any suggestions on how to get listed in Yahoo News? Ive been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Many thanks.
