Remember the story a few months ago of a 19-year-old with a developmental disorder taking a 2-year-old to the third floor balcony and dropping the baby 33 feet below, resulting in head trauma and death?
There was controversy surrounding how to deal with this charge of murder as the 19-year-old has a developmental disorder and may not have known what he was doing. On May 18, the final results came out and the Busan District Court ultimately ruled that the 19-year-old, Lee, was innocent.

The claims for medical treatment and custody as well as an order to attach possibly a tracking device were dismissed.
The justice department stated, "We completely acknowledge the killing, but as Mr. Lee has a first-level developmental disorder and, through a symptom of autism, is unable to discern objects nor decide on an intent, he acted in an insane state of mind, so we are unable to punish him."
Supposedly, the baby's mother had told the 19-year-old to stop what he was doing when she saw him taking her baby, but the actual act of the baby being dropped from the third floor had happened too quickly for her to do anything. Upon hearing this verdict, she replied, "I have nothing to say."
On the other hand, the prosecutor seems to be against the decision and is planning to appeal. What are your thoughts?
