The rumors first started to spread when one media outlet made a false report, quoting one supporting actor who allegedly stated that SBS failed to pay supporting actors their appearance fees. The report went on to claim that SBS had changed the production company in order to avoid paying their actors.

However, the SBS representative clarified, "When we talked to the media company who released the first article. Apparently, one supporting actor said that he/she didn't receive his/her appearance fee for episodes 3 and 4. The appearance fee for episodes 3 and 4 will be paid today (April 15). It doesn't make sense to say that she/he wasn't paid when not even one day has passed since payment."
The rep continued, "Just because we changed the production company, it doesn't mean that we didn't pay [the actor's] appearance fees. As long as there aren't many mistakes with the bank, the payment will go in today."
Meanwhile, 'Heard It Through the Grapevine' is currently receiving much praise for its satire and black comedy portraying the relationship between the rich and the poor.
