Singer Younha warned fans of a cellphone scam she was a victim of recently.
She posted to her Twitter on March 10, "This morning, there was news of a cellphone auction scam. I was scammed 1 million Won ($889 USD). I was buying and collecting to gift to my staff, but a few months ago, I was scammed. They copied a legitimate website and used a link. Please be careful."
Younha went on, "If you want to report it, the police said that I'd have to appear in court, I handed it over to the other victims (at least 10 people). The people who scam that way are so bad. I think of it as a $889 USD class about society... I'm okay, but among the victims, there was someone who worked at a convenience store, someone who wanted to buy a phone for his son, and there were a lot of students. I wasn't able to band together in the case, but I hope they find the perpetrator."
Fans responded, "I hope you get over it soon," "Scammers are so scary these days," "Be careful of auction sites," and more.
