However, the accident could have potentially been a much more serious issue as the car that Kim Wan Sun was riding in, driven by her manager, had turned left at a red light -colliding with a car coming straight from the opposite direction. Kim Wan Sun was sitting in the passenger seat next to the driver, fortunately, for the main collision took place around the back seat.
The police revealed, "The accident occurred due to violation of the light. It seems the driver [of Kim Wan Sun's car] had mistaken the signal. The green light came on for cars going straight in both directions, but it seems he had thought the green light had come on for cars turning left."
Kim Wan Sun and another person involved in the accident are said to have been treated at the hospital for minor neck and back pain.
